Balearics: Spain destroys 2,000 fruit trees to fight plant disease

Since then the government has increased efforts in order to protect thousands of hectares of almonds, olive trees and vineyards. Even with the increased measures on 12 January three new cases of the disease were found leading to the destruction of the affected trees.
