“Labelling fruit and vegetables per crate or box”

Simultaneously labelling products per box or crate is possible nowadays with the new LDI20 machine from Bizerba, which was introduced at the Empack last year. This machine is focused especially on labelling products packaged in boxes or crates, such as fruit and vegetables. “The machine can be configured for many different packagings and inlay patterns,” says Rob Dieu from Bizerba. “Because of the modular design, there is flexibility as regards the number of rows per packaging, and cassettes can also be exchanged as regards labelling size.”

Bizerba supplies the system as a complete solution. “The system is entirely made from aluminium and can be manually loaded or integrated in a transport system or sorting line. The system is driven by a PC with touch screen and can be programmed for various inlay patterns. The labellers are then automatically positioned when choosing the article. The carrying film of the labels is removed via a vacuum system and reduced to a minimal volume for easy handling and a clean shop floor.”

Bizerba offers solutions to the sector in the field of weighing and labelling machines. The DLI20 is already being used by various companies in the fresh produce sector, but its applications have also been found useful in the poultry and egg packaging world.
