MasrFruit expands for all round supply

Long standing fresh produce grower and importer MasrFruit launched a new brand last month: MASRFRESH.

Max Kryeziu, Development Manager of the company, explains that with this new branding they want to unify the identity through the whole group and its operations worldwide. Now each part of the business will operate under one name and one logo.

Over the last few years MasrFruit has continued to expand its range of products, source countries and markets. In the last few months the structure of the company has been changed and more personnel have been hired to keep things running smoothly.

Egypt
Spring onions, sweet potatoes, beans, oranges and strawberries are the main products from Egypt and beside a vegetable packinghouse in Egypt, MasrFruit have also acquired a citrus packinghouse. "The new citrus packinghouse provides us with stability in the market and allows us to supply our customers better," according to Max.

Morocco
MasrFruit started its growing operation in Morocco in 2013. The first products grown were spring onions, green beans and salad potatoes. Followed by courgette and capsicums. "New lines are now being set up with existing growers to form a reliable supply base with main focus on the retail in Europe and Asia," explains Max. "Some of the new lines are strawberry, blueberry, avocado, orange and clementine. Taking the product to the next level is what MasrFruit wants to achieve in Morocco."

Greece & Albania
In 2016 MasrFruit started to supply fresh fruits from Greece. Kiwi, grapes, stone fruit and apples are included in the selection. The supply of fruit from Greece will continue for the 2017 season.

The company has, during the 3rd quarter of 2016, finished an apple packinghouse in Albania: “We started exporting to countries like Egypt, Jordan and the UAE and are still in the process of helping growers to improve quality for the future markets like Europe.”

"In order to coordinate sales, besides the head office in Poeldijk, we have also offices in UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Greece & Albania with the addition of new sales offices now in Hungary, China and the UAE in the coming months," said Max.

Corporate Social Responsibility

We have started a foundation called the MasrFruit Foundation. It will be part of our worldwide CSR work. Sustainability is also an important factor to MasrFruit and they continue to work with SEDEX, Grasp and from March 1 becoming a member of BSCI.
