Although he had to overcome a series of obstacles, Ramón Sales, manager of Shakespeare Fruits, has finally managed to register his brand at the national level. "It is easier to enter the international market when you have a representative brand," states Sales. At present, this company is devoted to the production of kakis and pomegranates and the export of both its own production and of various vegetables from producers in the area. "We ship our products wherever they are demanded, to destinations like Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Russia, China, France or Italy," says Sales.
Sources from Shakespeare Fruits affirm that, unfortunately, "this first year we have not been able to meet our expectations, since the rains that were recorded last week have damaged the entire kaki harvest and we've had to put an end to the campaign." However, they have nothing to complain about when it comes to their other flagship product: pomegranates. This is a very resistant fruit that can be shipped almost anywhere in the world, "competing with the fruits of Turkish origin, against which we hardly have a chance because of their low prices," assures Sales.
