BLV is one of the largest manufacturers of HPS lamps for horticulture lighting. During the IPM, the company will display its latest HPS lamps, such as the BLV 750W and 600W double-ended lamps. “We will also show our new double-ended MH lamp, which has an activity of 1.8μmol/W,” says Joas van Iperen, Sales Director Horticulture for BLV. “These MH lamps can be used in combination with the BLV HPS supplies and fittings.”

As regards the LED segment, BLV focuses on special applications for which low heat dissipation and a custom-made spectrum are crucial. These applications have been developed in close collaboration with cultivators and internal plant physiologists.

“With an extensive set of services related to light, such as illumination advice and light and yield planning, we go further than just supplying illumination products. We believe that consultancy has to be based on face-to-face conversations between the cultivator and our technical and biological specialists, and we work closely with prominent horticulture experts in the Netherlands and Germany,” Van Iperen continues.

“Illumination is an integral part of the cultivation process. To achieve the best result, the illumination has to be adjusted to the individual needs of each crop and each cultivator. That is why we meet cultivators and nurserymen at their location, to get the complete image.”

BLV is present at IPM Essen, in Hall 7, stand 7B32.
