As reported by Paimfrut President Domenico Sergi, "foreign markets are increasingly demanding - they want higher quality and an improved traceability."
Paimfruit is located in an area that is particularly active from an agricultural point of view, especially for what concerns citrus fruit. Its products are available on the market between September and June.
"We have a variety of early and late cultivars as well as a wide range of crops that are very popular abroad, and pigmented orange varieties with the IGP Arancia Rossa di Sicilia mark".

"We had to renew all orchards because of the Tristeza virus and have been promoting our brand on all domestic and international media for years."
The warehouse covers 6,000 square metres and can process up to 5,000 tons of oranges a day. There are multiple processing lines for citrus fruit, table grapes, pomegranates and kiwis as well as cold storage units. The company is also working on new relations with French retailers.
"Paimfrut products have unique characteristics thanks to the special weather and soil conditions of our territory."
The company focuses mostly on the production of fruit to be consumed fresh and, in minor part, on other produce from protected cultivation. The objective is to widen the range by introducing other types of fruit and push members to evolve and innovate their cultivation techniques making them more environmentally sustainable.
Fruit quality is a priority - Paimfrut's agronomist team monitors crops from planting to ripening and combines traditional methods with the latest technologies.
The 2016/17 citrus fruit campaign
According to Mr. Sergi, the 2017 campaign is different than the previous one for what concerns volumes, grades and organoleptic qualities. "Nonetheless, it is still early to make an assessment, especially in light of the snow, wind and low temperatures registered at the start of 2017."
"Volumes are definitely lower due to last year's overproduction, which stressed plants. Fruits, however, are bigger and with better organoleptic qualities."
"The significant temperature variations of the last period led to an increased pigmentation of blood oranges, which also developed big anthocyanic pockets."
Paimfrut commercialises clementines, Navels, Taroccos, lemons, late Navels and Valencias between September and June both in Italy and abroad. Produce is available both from domestic retailers and platforms in France, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.
