The Di Donna family, entrepreneurs who specialise in the cultivation, production and commercialisation of table grapes, regret to inform the FreshPlaza public of the premature death of Piervito Di Donna.
Piervito, who was born in 1964, had been ill for quite some time and, despite the invasive treatments, found the courage and will to carry on with his professional commitments for most of last year. This photo was taken during Fruit Logistica 2016. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
The funeral was celebrated on Saturday 7th January 2017 at 4 pm at the Church of Madonna di Lourdes in Rione Parchitello.
Giacomo Suglia, APEO President and Vice-President of Fruitimprese, two associations of which the Di Donna family business is part of, said that "we will dearly miss Piervito, both from a professional and personal point of view. He was a discreet, kind and capable person. An innovator who was among the first to believe in varietal diversification with the introduction of seedless grapes. Well-known and renowned in our environment, he set an example and I hope will continue to set an example in the future."
