Fruitimprese data on foreign trade during the first nine months of 2016

Data concerning the first nine months of 2016 are not very different from the previous ones. Exports are good, with a 5.8% increase in quantity and a 4.5% increase in value.

Imports are still dropping - 5.1% in quantity and -2% in value. The balance is €636 million, a 45.8% increase with respect to 2015.

Between January and September, Italian companies exported 3.153 million tons of produce for €3.330 billion.

Export flows increased for all segments - vegetables (17%), citrus fruit (17.5%), fresh fruit (1%) and dried fruit (18,2%). Value also increased - vegetables 5.9%, citrus fruit 30.2%, fresh fruit 0.2% and dried fruit 13.1%.

For what concerns imports, Italy bought around 2.447 million tons for €2.695 billion.

There was an increase in value for dried fruit (17.6%) and tropical fruit (4.4%); and a decrease for vegetables (-3.8%), citrus fruit (-26.3%) and fresh fruit (-9.8%). For what concerns the value, the sign was positive for vegetables (0.4%) and tropical fruit (4,2%); while it was negative for citrus fruit (-3.9%), dried fruit (-3.7%) and fresh fruit (-6.5%).
