UK: Dogs gone vegan
"When I first became vegan I was still feeding the dogs raw meat. They used to eat fresh raw chicken from a special meat shop – I never gave them anything processed as that’s just the worst."
"But after a couple of months I just thought, 'I can’t do this anymore', so I started to do some research and ask around about vegan diets for dogs."
"I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. Apparently cat’s stomachs are a little different and they do need meat, but dogs don’t have to eat it."
She added that the dogs always enjoyed eating vegetables anyway, which helped the transition. Sweet potatoes are among their favorites and now both dogs live on a completely vegan diet, consisting of a mix of natural fruit and veg, pulses, herbs and spices and even kale.
