The German OPDR optimizes its Morocco service

Best conditions for the export of Moroccan citrus fruit

OPDR, situated in the German Hamburg and part of the CMA CGM Group, revised three of its established services connecting Morocco with Northern Europe and Russia. The services, DUNKRUS, AGAX and CISS, optimization is perfectly timed for the Moroccan citrus export season. The services meet the increased demand and offer optimized rotations with best transit times.

The services provide excellent opportunities for fast and reliable shipments of Moroccan export products in reefer containers to the strategic consumption areas in Northern Europe and Russia. With four weekly departures from Morocco, the services connect the northwestern African state with several European countries: Spain (including the Canary Islands), Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, the UK and Russia.

The combined services AGAX and DUNKRUS have been extended by calls in Agadir, Tangier Med and Saint Petersburg. The addition of these calls offer a direct link from Morocco’s main ports for the export of agricultural products to Russia – the largest consumer market for citrus fruit – in just ten days. On their way to the Baltic region the six vessels, which are equipped with an adequate amount of reefer plugs, arrive in Rotterdam for a stopover after only 4.5 days. Five days later the vessel reaches the Container Terminal Saint Petersburg (CTSP).

OPDR also offers a weekly service between Morocco, the Canary Islands and Northern Europe. The CISS service connects Agadir and Casablanca with Hamburg, Rotterdam and the United Kingdom (Tilbury) with stopovers in Tenerife, Las Palmas and the Iberian Peninsula, offering customers the best opportunities for reefer transport from the fruit-rich subtropical regions to northwest Europe.

All OPDR services have state-of-the-art reefer equipment, allowing the reliable transport of perishable products. The capacity of the deployed containers also lives up to OPDR’s standards, since the 40ft and 45ft pallet wide high-cube reefers provide customers with an increased cargo load. With attractive transshipment solutions to Scandinavia or the Baltic region, for instance the PENN-service that connects Rotterdam with Oslo and the east coast of the UK, OPDR completes the range.

OPDR is a Short Sea Shipping Specialist with decades of experience in the shipping of (temperature) sensitive products. OPDR is part of the CMA CGM Group and can rely on a comprehensive global network of experts. The CMA CGM Group is the largest transport carrier of agricultural products in reefer containers from Morocco to the rest of the world.
