On October 27th experts from the national central office for quality inspection officially checked fruits that had crossed the border through the assigned gate within the international airport hub in Chengdu. This gate for external trade helps the development of the Chengdu free trade zone and holds an active role in promoting it as a "national core city". This indicates that fresh fruit from abroad can be imported directly via the Shuangliu airport in Chengdu. The era in which imported fruit in Chengdu had to pass quarantine inspection at coastal trading posts before it could be transported, is about to come to an end. The residents of Chengdu will take pleasure from many imported fresh fruits.
