First Egyptian supply at Fruta Royal

"Plastic crates enable good ventilation for sweet potatoes"

Fruta Royal has started the import of orange fleshed sweet potatoes from Egypt. "The quality of the sweet potatoes is great. We define ourselves by supplying them both in cartons and plastic crates. The better ventilation possibilities benefit the product," says Merijn Kruidenier. The sweet potatoes are grown in the Egyptian delta and are of the varieties Baladi and Bearuguard.

"You are always competing with the American supply of sweet potatoes, but our buyers can certainly work well with this Egyptian product. We have the sizes XL, L2, L1, M and S available and the sweet potatoes are stored in Barendrecht," says Marijn. Fruta Royal defines itself with trade from Egypt and Central America, where they do direct business with the source.
