China experiments with new radish varieties

On August 10, the Seed Management Office of Daxing region near Beijing finished this year's planting of imported root vegetables. 29 varieties were planted this year with origins ranging from South Korea to the Netherlands and Australia. The experiment uses open field cultivation, high ridges and a soil depth of 30 cm. Every cultivation area has a surface of 6.7 m2. Afterwards, biologists will conduct special tests on the radishes to determine the production volume, the resilience of the plants etc. This will provide a foundation for future application and dissemination.
