Martin de Dreu: “For now, we stop sorting.”

De Dreu Onions moves to new location

De DreuOnions from Ritthem, the Netherlands, has moved to make room for the new marinebarracks near Vlissingen. For the brothers Tony and Martin de Dreu it meantthey could move to a new location. Two weeks ago, the building was completed. “Ittook some work, but now we are very happy with it,” says Martin de Dreu.

The new location has a warehouse of 80 x 40metres, with an additional 5,000 square metres outdoors. “With this newbuilding, we are ready for the future,” states Martin happily. “On the oldlocation we used to sort, those machines, however, were outdated and we soldthem all. For now, we have stopped sorting and are concentrating on the export and transport.Who knows what the future holds?”

De Dreu’s most importantexport destinations are West-Africa, England and the Czech Republic, and someexport to Eastern Europa and France. “We look back on a sufficient season.Trading onions is challenging, but that is nothing new. We are not unhappy.”
