Brisbane Markets awarded Corporate Philanthropist of the Year

Brisbane Markets Limited (BML) has been recognised by the Queensland Community Foundation, as the 2016 Queensland Corporate Philanthropist of the Year.
BML has a long history of supporting the community, involving multiple charities with more than $1 million donated to those charities through its fundraising activities, such as the iconic Brisbane Markets® Mango Auction, since 2002. These funds have impacted the charities and their programs providing essential funds to Queenslanders in need.

BML CEO, Andrew Young, said, “It is an honour for Brisbane Markets® and the Brisbane Markets® stakeholders to be recognised for their commitment to the community, with Independent Retailers such as Carlo and Susan Lorenti from Clayfield Markets Fresh being such passionate supporters of our fundraising events.”
BML was nominated by its Platinum Charity Partner, Diabetes Queensland, which has been working with BML and members of the Your Local Fruit Shop program since 2013.
