German summer avocado campaign

Just as the previous years ProHass Peru initiated sampling campaigns in leading supermarkets in 2016. A novelty this season, the foundation of the WAO (Welt Avocado Organisation) forms a background for the motto: Summer avocados. The goal is to increase the popularity of Hass Avocados and increase the consumption.

In South America the avocado is a staple food, and the consumption in Europe increases steadily too. Slowly consumers see the avocado less as an exotic food. 
Now the EU is the second largest market for imported avocados: in 2015 the avocado consumption in Europe was 800 million pounds, and an increase of 10% is expected in 2016.

To stimulate the popularity of avocados ProHass, leading producer of quality avocados, organizes the first avocado week in Germany from 4 to 10 July. And under the slogan “Summer fresh, summer fruit, summer fit, summer fun” a wide range of activities are organized around the theme summer avocados. The activities are in the supermarkets online on social media, blogs and press releases. The wide variety of advertisements in flyers, newspapers and competitions in stores and online during the avocado week should reach up to 8 million consumers and convinced them of the avocado as a perfect companion for summer dishes.
