The Egyptian grape season is going very well, according to Eddy Kreukniet of Exsa Europe. “Throughput is excellent, and quality is very good. Starting this week, new strains will be available again from our own farm in Egypt, such as Arra 30 (white seedless) and Arra 29 (red seedless).”
“These new Arra strains taste and look great. The Arra 30 is a Thompson Seedless-like grape regarding shape and taste, and is available in several packagings, including, for example, the EXSA GOLD paper bag packaging. We also expect new strains of seedless blue grapes (Arra 20) in the coming week,” Kreukniet continues.
“This week (week 24) is the final packing week for seedless white, and seedless red is also coming to an end soon. The Sugra One harvest was very disappointing this year, meaning our season ends considerably earlier than last season. Spain entered the market a little later this year, meaning the transitional period between Europe and Egypt will be smooth” Kreukniet concludes.
