Market trends on Shandong greenhouses watermelon

Thanks to the promising market situation in recent years, watermelon growers are very active in planting watermelons. Together with the good weather in Beijing, it is estimated that Jingxin watermelons will be listed on the market earlier than normal this season. Currently the pollination for the five mulching Jingxin watermelons has nearly come to an end, after one week, Jingxin watermelons grown in the third mulching and forth mulching will be pollinated soon.

If the good weather continues, the watermelons will arrive on the market on April 25th, and around May 5 more volumes will be listed on the market, followed by a peak moment on May 14th, and the market supply will finish on May 22nd.
Currently there is not a large volume of watermelons from the northeast region in Weifang( Shandong province) market. Generally speaking, the watermelon yields decrease leads to the price increase. This year Hongyu watermelons from Weifang are seriously impacted by the temperature, and its yield has also decreased. As well as this, this year lot of high temperature weather exists, so consumers' demand for watermelon is very strong. Therefore the watermelon price will climb higher.
