Recently, Shandong Province Inspection and Quarantine Bureau released its report on fruit export from Shandong ports. According to the data, the province has imported a total of 55,400 tons of fruit, a year on year increase of 32.9%. 80% of these fruit volumes were imported through Huangdao port, and its major fruit varieties included dragon fruit, longan, kiwi, banana, coconut, orange, durian, etc; and the main fruits of origin are Vietnam, Thailand and New Zealand.

As introduced by employees from Huangdao port, its imported fruits growth rate is the highest in the whole northern region. Taking last year as an example, fruits from over 30 countries were imported to Shangdong province, including South American countries such as Chile and Ecuador. In recent years, Huangdao port has implemented relevant policies regarding fruit imports, which facilitates the import inspection procedures for fruit enterprises.
