Peru's organic offerings at Biofach 2016

26 Peruvian companies took part in Biofach 2016, the world's leading trade fair for organic food, which took place from 10-13 February 2016 in Nuremberg, Germany. Among their products on display were Brazil nuts, eggfruit, banana and purple corn.

The Peruvian delegation is aimed at promoting and positioning organic products in the international market, mainly in Europe and as a result of the fair Peruvian entrepreneurs expect to close US$23 million in deals.

The event gathers more than 2,300 speakers from 86 countries and 44,000 professionals from 129 nations.

Peru exported US$379 million of organic products in 2015. The most important ones were coffee, banana, cocoa, quinoa, jojoba, mango and maca. Peru’s main export markets were the United States, the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
