Beijing agriculture logistics to be improved

This year, a one-hour logistics circle for fresh agricultural products will be built around Beijing and Tianjin city. The objective is to build multi-functional logistic connection points and a large modern logistics warehouse center, so that over 1,500 various types of convenience business network can be upgraded, and the capital city supply network can be further improved. Beijing will continue in 2016 to ease current wholesale market issues or market transfer, start the process to adjust and upgrade the wholesale market for agricultural products. In the end it is estimated to ease the problems of around 90 trade markets, and upgrade around 100 markets.

By 2020, the regional logistics base and wholesale markets within the Fourth Ring road will no longer exist. At the same time, Beijing will also make full use of the joint forces among Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province to guide its enterprises to build agricultural products manufacturing center, such as for vegetables, meat and eggs, in Tianjin and Hebei province. The one-hour logistic circle for fresh agricultural products around Beijing and Tianjin city will be built as a demonstration project. The main goal is to increase logistic facilities and implement standardardized management system within the existing Beijing logistic bases. By doing so, the logistic pressure for Beijing will be released, moreover, the garbage that is generated due to vegetable waste.
