Durian from Malaysia targets Chinese market

Last week, Weiquan Lai, the president of the Malaysian Durian Association, has indicated during a visit to China that facing huge demand from the Chinese market, durian producers in Pahang have expanded production.

Wei Quan Lai explained that the region of Pahang, where the Association is located, is rich in production of the national durian brand 'Cat Mountain King'.

He mentioned that with the Chinese market gradually liberalising restrictions on the import of Malaysian durian and the slow rise of market in north China, Malaysian durian producers have started to increase production. Weiquan Lai: "the 'Cat Mountain King' durian is the best in quality and taste and we are excited to be able to export this product to China".
