A famous TV host from Shaanxi province led the event. The museum has been funded by Qi Agriculture, whose chairman invested 20 million Yuan in the project and the development of the local persimmon industry.
800 households in Fuping County work in the persimmon industry. To boost the local industry, Qi Agriculture has acquired machinery from Japan. A new sales team has been formed of 90 young people to boost online sales.
The museum highlights the Chinese origin of persimmon with a history of over 1,200 years in the country. It showcases over 180 persimmon varieties, production methods, processing, means of pest control and historic and modern harvest methods.
Around the same time, persimmon hang out to dry in other parts of China are ready to be processed and packed.
Current persimmon prices are as high as 20 Yuan (€3) per kilogram.
