Sweet Eve raspberry best fresh produce award

Last year Albert Heijn won the 'Best Fresh Produce Product of the Year 2014-2015' award with Sweet Eve strawberries, but this year it’s the Sweet Eve raspberry. A panel of Dutch consumers took part in the large-scale consumer study where Sweet Eve raspberries were assessed on criteria including value for money, product presentation and consumer satisfaction. As the winner in the Fruit & Vegetables category, the Sweet Eve raspberry can now proudly call itself 'Best Fresh Produce Product of the Year 2015-2016’ in the Netherlands for the year ahead.

Soft fruit specialist Vitalberry, the fruit and vegetable trading company Bakker Barendrecht and the retailer Albert Heijn wanted to find a raspberry in the same line as the Sweet Eve strawberry. For years they have been working together with the British master breeder Peter Vinson on the development of a raspberry which had to stand out in taste and quality. In May 2015 the Sweet Eve strawberry got a ‘little sister’, the Sweet Eve raspberry.

In the Netherlands the Sweet Eve raspberry and the Sweet Eve strawberry are exclusively available at Albert Heijn. From April to November the Dutch consumer can easily buy Sweet Eve raspberries in Holland’s largest retailer.
