Superstore for value fruit and vegetables

A gross price comparison was done for CTV Calgary's price comparison of grocery items on Sunday, December 13 and Superstore beat all competition for giving shoppers the best value for their money.

A basket of fruit and vegetables at Superstore cost only $115.76, slashing the prices at rival supermarkets Co-op, Safeway and Sobeys by about $8.00

The price comparison was done as part of an ongoing series on price checks aired monthly on CTV.

Once a month, CTV creates a grocery list and compares prices at major Calgary stores. The prices are a snapshot on the given day.

All coupons and membership programs are included and some chains vary prices from store to store.

CTV priced out 31 items at the Shawnessy Safeway, Shawnessy Co-op, Millrise Sobeys, and Shawnessy Superstore. The best deal was at Superstore, where the grocery basket cost $115.76. The same goods bought at Safeway cost $123.26.
