Tesco celebrates start of Spanish citrus season
Following the success of recent years, the campaign once again hits the capital with the unveiling of a unique Spanish Citrus juice bar in the city’s Old Spitalfields market.
During the Spanish season the retailer is working closely with the supply chain with the aim of significantly reducing the time getting products from the farms to arriving on shelf. The initiative aims to bring to the fore a fresher offer for consumers.
In store will feature catching fixture space punctuated by dedicated point of sale, strong promotional offers together with branded display cases.
The extended PR campaign will see a Spanish takeover of the Old Spitalfieds market site on Wednesday 25th November – with tens of thousands of Londoners exposed to the products and receiving a unique taste of Spain.
Kantar data has revealed that citrus fruit spend in the UK has increased by £2.2 million and is now worth £726m (52 weeks to October 2015).
Spanish citrus accounts for over 60% of the total UK market sales and is now the largest importer of citrus fruit to the UK.
