Mexico: Frozen fruit and veg company Ecuandureo to be expanded

Governor Silvano Aureoles Conejos, this week laid the first brick for the expansion of the frozen fruit and vegetable plant in Ecuandureo and cut the ribbon of three companies that will start operations in the Bajio Region Industrial Park. Expectations are these works will generate 850 direct jobs and at least 2,000 indirect ones in the agro and livestock sector.

During the ceremony, the governor of the state said that the state would only be able to solve its current inequality problems by generating wealth, for which the government is willing to create the conditions for attracting investments.

To achieve this, he pledged he would create guarantees for public safety, legal certainty, and respect for the rule of law.

"The government has to be a facilitator, create the conditions, make resolutions, timely decisions, limit bureaucracy, red tape, waiting times, and the excuses that sometimes are associated with corruption problems, which the government that I head won’t tolerate," he said.

Aureoles Conejo asked investors to think about projects for Tierra Caliente, one of the regions of the state where there were bastions of criminal cells and that has been facing security problems for over a decade, but that has a high agricultural potential.

"Every year we lose hundreds of thousands of tons of mango, thousands of tons of grapefruit, lemons, and other products because that region has lagged far behind and there is no productive investment. I offer investors the conditions so that they can invest there," he told entrepreneurs.

In addition to the laying of the foundations of a frozen fruit and vegetables company in the Bajio Region Industrial Park, two cold cuts distribution companies began operations. A company specialized in greenhouses will also start operations soon. According to estimates, this will allow the state to achieve an estimated 478 million pesos investment.

Previously, the state governor visited New Italy, where he reiterated that his purpose was to recover the guidance of the education system and called upon parents to strengthen the education and care of their children.

The governor participated in the parade and civic ceremony to mark the 77th anniversary of the founding of the New Italy Ejido, where he told the teachers who have shown disagreement with the teacher evaluation that this wasn’t a process to fire them, but that those who pass it would have a salary increase.

He added that, after having signed an agreement with the Federation, the state had 2,100 million pesos to build and modernize basic education schools, and that his wish is that there be no more schools in shambles.
