Mexico: Thirteen citrus industries Tecoman stopped working

According to Felipe Felix, an agribusinessman from Tecoman, the panorama of the citrus industry is daunting, as only 2 of the 15 industries based in the municipality are working: Citrojugo and Javier Moreno's industry.

In an interview, Felipe Felix stressed that the industries' main problem was a lack of raw materials, as they are still waiting for the lime production to rebound. He also stated there were good expectations for this to happen in 2016.

According to Felix, Tecoman already has installed more hectares of lime, but the HLB has not allowed them to have a harvest that is as good as in Michoacan, Guerrero and Oaxaca.

He said that the crisis in the sector had generated around 100 direct job losses, and other job losses in productive areas, such as in repair shops.
