Baggio Wang, Dalian Tianbao Green Foods

“We want to import Tasmanian cherries and Chilean avocados”

Dalian Tianbao Green Foods imports bananas from the Philippines and Ecuador for the Chinese market

“We annually export 3,000 tons of fruit and vegetables. Our main export destinations are South-East Asian markets, including Bengal, India, Singapore and Sri Lanka. We run our own cool logistic chain. As such, we are a fully integrated company. This is one of our big advantages. We own cool storage in the port of Dalian and over 40 refrigerated trucks,” says Baggio Wang, the import and export manager of Dalian Tianbao Green Foods.

“We specialise in the import of bananas, Red Global grapes, durian, oranges and kiwi. Our kiwis are imported from Chile. Annually we import 4,500 tons of fruit. We want to expand our product offering and are exploring the import of cherries from Tasmania and avocados from Chile. We hope to be able to launch this business soon”.

“We import bananas from the Philippines and Ecuador. The price of import bananas keeps changing throughout the year. Most bananas are imported in the months November and December. During the summer months there is ample Chinese production and prices are lower. We sell the bananas under our own Tianbao brand”.

“Our imported products are currently sold to wholesale markets and supermarkets in North-East China. We are working on opening new sales channels in Beijing, Shanghai and GuangZhou”.

"National import volumes and prices have decreased in China compared to last year. This is caused by a weakening Yuan and unstable market conditions. However, the fruit import and export market will continue to grow”.

Dalian Tianbao Green Foods is registered at the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The company imports and exports through Dalian port. Dalian port, in the North of China, has trading links with over 300 ports in 160 countries worldwide. There are 68 international and domestic container shipping routes.
