This growing season was very balanced for these apples in terms of weather, without severe highs and lows. The hot summer with rainfall divided in a balanced manner was optimal for the ripening of the fruits and a balanced sweet-sour ratio, which is decisive of a savoury flavour.

The fresh-juicy Styrian apples have been Germany’s most popular apple for decades. And rightly so! Especially this year, the consumer can look forward to aromatic, soft and crispy apples. The first Styrian apples, fresh from the harvest and juicy fresh, can be acquired in trade. This year the fresh-juicy Styrian apples are once again a natural jack of all trades for all tastes.

The main types of fresh-juicy Styrian are Golden Delicious, Gala, Braeburn, Idared, Jonagold, Evelina®, Arlet, Elstar, Fuji/Kiku® and Kronprinz Rudolf. In terms of flavour, they range from juicy sweet, fresh aromatic, to spicy-fruity and sweet-subtly-sour.
