A study[1] suggests rubbing the inside of banana peels for 2 minutes on your teeth makes them whiter. Don’t expect to be blinded by the flash of your whites but you will definitely see a difference. Follow this once a week and for better results.
Here’s how you need to go about it:
- Choose ripe yellow bananas but ensure the skin or peel does not have black patches. Peel it neatly so that the skin is intact.
- With a sharp knife make 2 inch squares from the peel. It will be easier to hold the small square pieces while rubbing them on your teeth.
- Each piece may cover 2-3 teeth. Start from the molars and rub each piece for 2-3 minutes in rotational and up and down motion. Cover all angles and all teeth.
- Now brush your teeth with your regular toothpaste and brush. Rinse your mouth well to get rid of the banana peels stuck, if any.
