International potato economy looks curiously at Berlin

In the coming weeks, the potato harvest for stock goods will begin in Germany. DKHV chairman Thomas Herkenrath goes with confidence into the new season. He expects that with good quality, the market will develop better than last year, when the record harvest made for a high pricing pressure. Due to the limited offer of early potatoes, the warehouses have been cleared out. The challenges in sales remain high however, and innovative ideas are wanted in order to countermand the dropping potato consumption.

The past FRUIT LOGISTICA has proven itself in all areas as an important trade hub and impulse generator for the international potato industry. Among others, enthusiastic feedback came from England: "Participating in this event is an absolute must," says Robert Burns from Potato Council. "We hope that next year, more English exhibitors will derive benefit from this supremely top-class event. Carol Ford from A C Goatham, who were there for the first time in 2015, also had the best of experiences. "If I were to say that I am satisfied with the exhibition participation, it would be huge understatement." At the last exhibition, the Brandenburg company KTG presented a new potato box, which was very popular with food retail traders. "We have more direct contacts with LEH than before," said Key Account-Manager Valerio Giacose, expressing great satisfaction with participating in the exhibit.

Wilfried Wollbold, new Global Brand Manager of FRUIT LOGISTICA since the beginning of September, is very satisfied with the booking status of the FRUIT LOGISTICA that will take place from 3 to 5 February 2016: "The demand for space on the coming FRUIT LOGISTICA is once again above the already very high level of the last event. Exhibitors and professional visitors can look forward to three intensive business-related exhibit days, which will bring the current technical themes of the international fresh-fruit industry closer to them."
