According to the Business Council of Changsha county, a fruit and vegetable cold storage and distribution center of Hunan Friends of Fruit Agricultural Science and Technology Co., Ltd. will be completed and put into use at the end of 2015. This center is located in Huangxing town, Hunan province, and occupies about 25,000 square meters. It can store 30,000 tons of products and its daily distribution capacity is 1,500 tons. This modern agricultural warehousing, distribution and processing center contains fruit and vegetable cold storage, sorting and processing equipment, quarantine inspection, cold chain distribution and sales. It is reported that this center will become the largest professional import fruit company headquarters of the Hunan province, and its sales are estimated to reach 300 million Yuan.
Changsha County has a tight business relationship with Thailand. The county has exported $ 12.62 million worth of goods and imported $ 5,630,000 from January to July 2015; within this the fruit import occupies a high proportion. Main imported fruits are durian, longan, mangosteen, jackfruit and coconut.
