Business is doing well at Naki Groothandel in Venlo. The wholesale business, named after owner Naki Güneser, was founded two and a half years ago. This past February the business moved to another building on the Fresh Park Venlo site with an area of 2,300 square meters, "In the high season this space is even too small, our turnover has increased five-fold since we moved into this new building!"
According to the owner, the strength of Naki Groothandel lies in their home-grown cultivation, "We grow beans, bell peppers and watermelons in Morocco. Thanks to the home-grown aspect we can earn money. If we had to work with intermediaries it would be a lot more difficult!"
At Naki Groothandel the peak season runs from November to June. In addition to the Moroccan cultivation, Naki is also strong in Greek watermelons and pomegranate and quince from Turkey, "Our clientèle comes from Germany, the U.K. and France."
