Fairtrasa Holland expands its team and productbase
Peter Abma, director of Fairtrasa Holland explains: “We have known Elisa now for several years. She unfortunately left the organic fresh fruit business two years ago, but after feeling “homesick” for that challenging world, she contacted Fairtrasa Holland to find out if there was the possibility for a sustainable cooperation. A cooperation in the region proved to have its advantages.”
“First of all Elisa has very good relations in the European market; with retailers, service suppliers and (organic) wholesalers. Besides that, she is located close to Verona, right in the middle of the organic apple, pear and stonefruit region. Fairtrasa has a good position in these products where it concerns overseas supply. With Elisa in the team, with the product being supplied directly from the grower, we will have a strong position in the Italian season as well. This is of an enormous added value for our clients who we can now offer a year round supply.”
Peter continues: “Of course we will be very selective regarding which growers we will work with. If we can support small scale growers in Italy that would of course have our preference.”
