During Ramadan, experts advise eating bananas after breakfast or for Suhoor because of their multiple benefits, especially as the fruit contributes to the tackling of thirst while fasting.
Bananas are useful in preventing stomach ulcers; they are also rich in fibre and are an ideal source of energy because of their high vitamin B-6 content, in addition to being considered a useful source of folic acid, potassium and mineral salts.
Studies have also revealed that bananas strengthen the body's immune and nervous systems and help reduce high blood pressure. Furthermore, they help in the formation of haemoglobin in red blood cells.
