Vietnam to export lychees to 6 countries

This year about 1,000 tons of lychees will be exported to Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, the USA and Israel. According to the forecasts, Vietnam could export 50,000 to 100,000 tons of lychee as of next year.

A memorandum of understanding was signed in Hanoi at the start of June by representatives of 3 provinces, the Japanese strategic research Committee for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing, Japanese, Malaysian, Australian and Israeli companies and the international joint stock company, AIC. This cooperation will allow for scientific progress in the growing, conservation and production of lychees for export, as well as establishing an international label for the fruit.
