Poland: Lower prices for first greenhouse grown strawberries

According to the Polish Cultural Center in Kaliningrad, Poland started to sell the first greenhouse grown strawberries. According to an article in the local newspaper Portalspozywczy, the greenhouse berries are expected to be sold at lower prices this year.

At the wholesale market in Broniszee, the price of a kilogram of the Polish fruit is 15% lower than a year ago. A kilogram of greenhouse strawberries cost 18 to 20 zloty. According to growers, the first strawberries from the greenhouses will be available next week.

At the same time, many stores in Poland sell strawberries from Spain; a kilo sells for 7 to 9 zloty. There are also strawberries that are imported from Hungary.
