Since 2007 the Romanian company Agribox produces wooden pallet boxes. Mihai Prodan, the company’s owner, states that their products are sold in Romania, Hungary, Austria and Bulgaria. "We used to export to France, but the financial crisis hit the agricultural sector hard, so at that time we decided to focus on our own country, Romania." Potato, carrot, onion and apple farmers are the chief purchasers of the pallet boxes.

Cooperation with Klim'Top
Agribox cooperates closely with the French company Klim'Top Controls. They supply climate control systems for storage facilities. "We have been contacted by Klim'Top because our activities complemented each other." Agribox sells pallet boxes under the brand name 'agrobox'. " We are committed to keep the quality of our boxes above average. There are many types of timber available and we are looking for the best suitable wood, although the Romanian wood market tends to become more and more difficult"
Demand for pallet boxes
The agricultural market in Romania expands. "We notice an increase in the demand for pallet boxes. Our biggest competitors are abroad, mainly Dutch and Polish companies. We hope we can supply the demand in Romania and increase the export in the future. It is a challenge to plan the production of the crates and boxes. Naturally, we know when the harvest seasons begin, but it is difficult to predict how high the yield is and how much can be stored, so it’s difficult for our customers to make buying decisions early in the year".
