After cancellation of Frankfurt bike race

Opel-Zoo receive 3500 bananas and 2000 apples

The Opel-Zoo in Kronberg got a giant fruit delivery. After a terrorist threat led to the cancellation of the Frankfurt bicycle race the organizers donated thousands of pieces of fruit to the animals.

The 3500 bananas and 2000 apples were for the hungry cyclists. But when the "Around the financial center Eschborn-Frankfurt" race had to be cancelled, the fruit was donated to the Opel-Zoo. "A longterm friendship already exists between the organizers of the race and the Opel-Zoo - the race track runs right past the Zoo. The food we provide the cyclists was of the highest standards. Therefore we are donating the fruit to the zoo. But we served the potato salad and sandwiches." says organizer Bernd Moos-Achenbach. Apples and bananas go to the Opel-Zoo because the elephants, giraffes and raccoons come first.
