Rewe Group rejects proposed ministerial approval
“The arguments brought forth by the requesting parties, which consisted of outstanding care for the interests of the general public in the take-over of Kaiser's Tengelmann by Edeka, that the plans have macroeconomic advantages, and that the workplaces at Kaiser's Tengelmann can only be secured through such a fusion, are false and remain false. There are also other options for Kaiser's Tengelmann, which also pertain to the willingness of Rewe, to secure all workplaces in a takeover.” Martin Brüning, corporate spokesperson of the Rewe Group, declared yesterday.
