Teamwork is important, especially in the course of the structural change of the wholesale business. The large supermarket chains and discounters frequently bypass the wholesale completely and buy their products directly from importers or growers. “We wholesale dealers need to offer something that the retail does not”, reports another wholesale dealer from the wholesale market. Beside fruits, vegetables, mushrooms or tropical fruits the wholesale market offers fish and meat products on his large area. Furthermore, the Frischezentrum is directly connected with his own education centre and supermarket, called “Frischeparadies”. The education centre offers, besides an integrated vocational school, also cross-corporate courses and further educations. At the “Frischeparadies” are private individuals able to buy the fresh and exotic products of the wholesale market.
