Today (Monday), Wilkofruit from Breda will once again offer Chilean Roysum plums. "The harvest in Chile has been good, and the season makes for good closure of the season of South African plums," says Dennis Boogaard. "We offer the Chilean plums from week 16 until week 20, after which we switch to the first Spanish Honey Moon, Royal Rosa and Primetime plums in week 21."
"These plums look like the Laetitia plum, and are one of the tastiest plums Chile has to offer. The quality is good, with a distinctive sweet flavour and colour compared to the African plums. In addition, these plums have a good shelf life. That makes them very suitable for supermarkets," Dennis says.
Wilkofruit receives multiple shipments per week, and offers the plums in sizes 45/50, 50/55, 55/60, packaged per 10 kg, 5 kg and 10 x 50 kg. "Demand traditionally comes from supermarkets, wholesalers, market vendors and retailers. Especially with the sunny weather we're having now, plums sell like crazy," Dennis concludes.
