Jacqueline de Bruijn (ADB) reacts to takeover by AGRO Merchants Group

"Takeover offers opportunities for clients and employees"

This week, the AGRO Merchants Group announced its acquisition of ADB Cool Company. The American cooling and cold store giant thus showed its ambition to grow in the Netherlands. Previously, Agro Merchants also acquired Coldstore Urk, Coldstore Wibaco, Harthoorn Groep in Barneveld and Opticool in Rotterdam. This means the company now has cold stores with a total capacity of over 170,000 m².

In a reaction, Jacqueline de Bruijn says she is proud of ADB becoming a part of the AGRO Merchants Group. "We weren't looking for it, but this group crossed our path, and we subsequently entered into talks. I do believe a synergy will occur with other parts of the group. The world is changing, and this we we offer our clients and staff a strong platform. We're also given the opportunity to expand our current centre by 8,000 m2."

The current management, Alex and Jacqueline de Bruijn, have acquired shares in the AGRO Merchants Group, and will remain involved in all aspects of the company. "We're going to continue, we're still young," Jacqueline concludes, laughing.
