UK: Fears over 'blood' found in banana

A mum fears fruit she bought for her youngsters was injected with blood.

Keighley Gallagher had bought a bag of fun-sized bananas at Aldi’s store in St Mark’s Road, Millfield, but was shocked to open one to find what she believes was blood.

The 27-year-old from Pennywell said she found a hole in the top of the fruit. “I peeled it and it was black and blood red. I’ve seen it on Facebook through pages saying fruit had been injected with blood in foreign countries and I thought it was that. It had a hole in it and it looked like something had been pushed through.

The result of tests on the bananas are still to be revealed by the supermarket.
