Italy: Strong start hazelnut imports

Between September and December 2014, Italy imported 16,270 tons of shelled hazelnut for €135.6 million. Prices reached record levels due to the lack of produce from Turkey - €8.34/kg against the €6.88/kg of the 2005/06 campaign (+21%) and 55% more than the previous campaign.

Because of these prices, import values reached a record €135.6 million - only the initial phase of the 2005/06 campaign managed more at €164.6 million).
