According to statistics of the Association of Banana Exporters (AEBE), between January and November 2014, Reybanpac increased its exports from 11 to 13.1 million boxes when compared to 2013. Reybanpac has based its development on selling the fruit it produces mainly in Los RĂos.
Ubesa (Dole), continues to lead exports with 9.95% of the export market in the first eleven months of last year as the company exported 27.1 million boxes in this period, 3 million more than in 2013, according to the Exporters Association.
Coragrofruit and Tropical Fruit Export are other small companies that have also increased their business.
Last year, Ecuador exported 272.4 million boxes of bananas, 17.4% more than in 2013.
The market shrunk in the last weeks of 2014 and in the early weeks of 2015 because of the devaluation crisis of the Russian currency, the ruble.
