German supermarket chain Real opened its first drive-through supermarket in Isernhagen near Hannover four years ago, and a pick-up point in Cologne a year later. Next year, two more drive-through supermarkets are to be added to these, German website mobiflip.de reports.
In the drive-through supermarkets, the customer can pre-order online and then comfortably collect the products later on. The Metro subsidiary is obviously very satisfied with the development of the project, that a new drive-through supermarkets in Berlin and Ruhr will be opened in 2015. While the product range of a normal Real supermarket consists of about 80,000 products, Real is offering 'only' 6000 products in the drive-through supermarkets.
