Steven A. Santos has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Research & Development for Mantrose-Haeuser Co., Inc. and its subsidiary, NatureSeal, Inc. Steve has been with the company for 38 years and is a highly-respected leader in the food technology industry.

He is currently a member of the American Chemical Society, Institute of Food Technologists, American Association of Confectionery Technologists, and American Association of Pharmaceutical Technologists.

Steve’s background encompasses extensive participation in several long-term multi-disciplinary research projects, including the development of specialty coatings formulations for the food, pharmaceutical and agricultural industries. He has worked on the establishment of cooperative research programs with several USDA laboratories. These programs include novel systems for the shelf-life extension of fresh-cut produce, biocompatible carriers for antagonistic microorganisms for the protection of whole citrus fruit along with general agricultural research programs.
In his role as Senior Vice President, he is responsible for directing a team of Scientists consisting of experienced Food Technologists, Chemists, Microbiologists, Chemical Technicians, Plant Pathologists and Plant Physiologists in the research and development efforts of Mantrose-Haeuser and NatureSeal in formulating functional edible coatings and other industrial coatings, both domestically and in its European laboratory.
