Left: Gusto and right: TomaD'or
"For years, we've been looking for a large tomato that tastes as good as our specialities," Paul Stoffels says. "The Gusto has a refined, spicy flavour with a brix value of 7. It has a juicy bite, while having a firm structure." The Gusto is a flexible tomato, which can be cultivated to the customer's size and weight standards, and is harvested individually. Stoffels also has international exclusivity rights for this beef tomato.

Gusto
The Gusto is presented in two packagings: four tomatoes flow-packed on a plastic tray, and six tomatoes in a cardboard box (see photo above). Several Belgian retailers will start offering these packagings this winter. Because thanks to illuminated cultivation, the Gusto is available year-round. Both packagings are still available for other countries. You can find more information on the Gusto at www.stoffels-tomaten.be/gusto.html.
Expansion TomaD'or range
Last year, Stoffels already launched the luxurious TomaD'or packaging. It is now being expanded with an innovative display box, a combination of a carton and a display. Thanks to the large incidence of light in front, the design, adapted to the pouches within, and the good stackability of these boxes, it's possible to sell them off the pallet. Recently, the TomaD'or has also been made available in three-kilogramme boxes: "That way, they can be sold better to large speciality stores and hospitality. But they would also suit retail well. Customers can choose for themselves how many bunches they want."
